Privacy Policy
Last updated October 10, 2026
This policy explains what Marju Studio, Inc. ("Marju", "we") collects when you use marjustudio.com and the Marju studio, why, who helps us process it, how long we keep it, and how to delete it.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, your brand's name, and who is on your account.
- Your photos and pictures: the product photos you upload or pick from your store, the pictures we make from them, the models you create, and your notes, ratings, collections and fix requests.
- Records of use: which pictures were made, frames used and refunded, the result of the adults-only check on each photo, and technical logs such as errors.
- Agreement records: when you accepted our terms, which version, your email and your browser type.
- Messages: feedback and screenshots you send us, and emails you write to us.
- Waitlist: if you join the waitlist, your email and what you sell.
- Payments: invoices and payments are handled by our invoicing and payment providers. We don't see or store your full card or bank account number.
We don't use advertising or analytics trackers. The studio keeps you signed in with your browser's own storage.
Faces in photos
The people in your photos, and their faces, are processed by AI image models only to make your pictures and to estimate whether everyone in a photo is an adult. We don't create face templates or face prints, we don't use face recognition to identify anyone, and we don't keep any biometric data. You're responsible for having the permission of the people in your photos (see our Terms).
Why we use it
- To run the Service: read your garment, make and fix pictures, and show them to you.
- To keep it safe: including checking that photos show adults, and stopping misuse.
- To support you, and to email you about your account (sign-in links, hand fixes, receipts, anything we need you to know).
- To understand costs and improve Marju.
We don't sell or share your information for advertising, and we don't use your photos or pictures to train AI models or give anyone permission to.
Who processes it for us
We use these providers to run Marju. Each gets only what it needs for its job:
- Supabase: our database, sign-in and file storage.
- Netlify: hosts the website and the studio.
- fal.ai: runs the image models that make, fix, cut out and enlarge pictures (including Google's image model and Bria's background removal). Your photo and the chosen model are sent to make each picture.
- OpenRouter and Google Gemini (reached through fal.ai): read the garment and check each photo before a shoot.
- FASHN: our backup image method, for some pieces such as sheer fabrics.
- Freelance photo editors: when you send a picture to us for a hand fix, a professional editor working for us under a confidentiality agreement may see that picture and its original to fix it, and deletes them afterwards. Some editors work outside the United States.
- Resend: sends our emails. Google Workspace: our email inbox.
- Our invoicing and payment providers (currently Intuit QuickBooks): invoices and payments.
- esm.sh: delivers one code library to your browser when you upload an iPhone (HEIC) photo; it sees your browser's address, not your photo.
Our providers store and process data mainly in the United States.
How long we keep it
- Your photos, pictures and models: for as long as your account is open, so you can download them again.
- If you delete them, or your account, yourself: removed right away, including your records of use. Copies in our providers' backups and temporary files expire on their own schedule.
- Trial accounts that never start a paid plan: closed and deleted 6 months after they open, with an email 14 days before.
- If we close your account for another reason: deleted within 30 days.
- Payment records: kept by our payment providers and by us as tax law requires.
- Agreement records: kept after an account is deleted, as proof of what was agreed.
- Feedback and emails: until they're no longer needed to support you or improve Marju, and at most two years.
- Waitlist: until we invite you or you ask us to remove you.
- Where the law requires us to report or preserve something (for example, a suspected image of a child), we keep what is required for as long as required.
Your choices and rights
- Delete: "Delete my photos" and "Delete my account" are on your Account page.
- Access or correct: ask us for a copy of your information, or to fix something that's wrong.
- Emails: account emails are part of the Service. Any other email we send will include a way to unsubscribe.
- Depending on where you live (for example California, other US states or the European Union), you may have more rights. Write to us and we'll help.
Children
Marju is for adults only. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and photos of people under 18 may not be uploaded. See section 4 of our Terms.
Security
Photos are stored privately, each brand can reach only its own, and every link to a photo expires. No system is perfectly secure. If a problem affects your information, we'll tell you promptly and as the law requires.
Changes
We'll post updates here and tell you about important ones.
